There is more than one way to get to Mokpo or Busan on almost the speed of sound. And we are not talking about KORAIL high-speed trains. The Suseo–Pyeongtaek high-speed railway or Super Rapid Train (SRT) is another one high-speed train which is highly popular in South Korea if you are planning to visit either Mokpo or Busan.

The train departs from Suseo train station in southeast Seoul and uses Gyeongbu and Honam lines to reach Busan and Mokpo. What is really interesting is that 86% of the path between Suseo and Cheonan-Asan situated 50 meters under the ground. Before SRT train arrives to Cheonan-Asan it goes through 2 exclusive train stations of SR company: Dongtan & Jije.
Riding on the speed of 300 km/h SRT train will house you to Busan a little bit earlier than KTX-train. But in all the rest - the trains of SRT and KTX are the same: they ride through the same stations and use the same lines.
